Sponsored by the UK Space Agency and delivered by the IEA at University of Reading,
July 5, 2016
This one-day interactive workshop was funded by the UK Space Agency, via its community Climate Data from Space Stakeholders’ Group programme and delivered by Vicky Lucas, Training Development and Executive Education Manager at the IEA. As part of its objective to raise awareness of the high quality data which are produced as long-term Earth observation datasets, you can access the course presentations here (see right, below).
Lucas said: “We were delighted to welcome a diverse mix of people from Earth observation (EO) companies, from global companies such as Telespazio Vega UK and Airbus to start-ups.
“Attendees were not necessarily EO specialists, many were there to broaden their horizons, for example those who have a lot of experience in hardware or ground segment who wanted to learn more about applications and the potential for downstream services.”
Speakers included Chris Merchant, Professor in Ocean and Earth Observation at the Department of Meteorology at University of Reading, Robin Stephens (BMT ARGOSS, Metocean Group Manager), Roelof Kramer (Rezatec, Head of Agriculture), Dr Andy Sowter (CTO at Geomatic Ventures Ltd), Prof Richard Brook of the Space Growth Partnership, and Ben Calton (PML Applications, researcher) and keynote speaker Professor Chris Merchant, Professor of EO at University of Reading.
