Copernicus Symposium – Climate Services
Copernicus Symposium on Climate Services for the Energy Sector
The symposium is a joint event organised by two Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) proof-of-concept projects – Clim4Energy and ECEM (European Climatic Energy Mixes) in which the IEA is a collaborator.
It brings together climate and energy scientists, energy industry practitioners and public decision makers to present new possibilities in climate predictions, discuss new ideas and better shape future public C3S products for the energy sector.
The C3S programme, funded by the European Commission and operated by the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), aims to deliver cutting-edge climate and sectoral information for to support climate change adaptation and mitigation. It is currently developing several demonstration products for the energy sector.
The programme includes a presentation of the ECEM demonstrator and hands-on sessions in which IEA Software Developer Barbara Percy will be taking part, having worked on the ECEM project.
Working groups will also discuss improving C3S products.
